Below you will find an explanation of the stats that you can give your stable horses and some rules that go with it.
What they are: These "stats" are mainly used to determine the winner in competitions and to determine the sale value of a horse. They are also a reason for having tack. The stats that you have been reading about so far will also affect role-playing the character(s).
Altering stats: Some stats can be changed depending on a horse's age, health, and with training. Stats can always be improved with tack, some help more than others. Please note that stats can also do down with sickness and mistreatment.
A horse's health will usually only decrease through random events that a staff member will post. Random events are not always bad, but some are. When a random even is posted that affects a horse's health the staff member will tell you it's effects and how long it will last and if it is curable.
A young horse will generally have better stats than an older horse, but not all the time. For example a horse that is 21 will move a lot slower than a horse that is 2.
The Training Center will train your horses for you in a particular stat for a fee of course.
The stats: Speed: This will affect how fast your horse can run at any given time. This stat can be altered depending on your horses health, age and through training. This stat will help determine a race or jumping event.
Stamina/Endurance: This stat determines how long your horse can maintain his/her top speed. This stat can be altered at the Training Center or with tack. This stat will help determine who wins a race or jumping event.
Obedience: This stat determines how obedient your horse is. This stat will change (slightly) with time or with training at the Training Center. It will also help determine which horse wins a dressage competition and any other competion. Some tack will raise this stat.
For example. If your horse only has a 2 in obedience and you decide to enter it in a jumping event. Well chances are your horse won't listen to you and may refuse or throw the rider. Same thing for racing. The horse has a 2, it will probably spend most of it's energy fighting for it's head or what ever.
Jumping Ability: This stat will determine how good your horse can jump. It can be changed with tack or at the Training Center. This stat will determine the winner or a jumping event or racing (steeple chase).
Strength/Power: This stat pretty much goes hand in hand with the stats, 'Jumping', 'Speed', and 'Endurance'. This stat will measure the power behind the horse. Need more info, please see Jumping, Speed, and Endurance.
Rules:
1. Stats of any horse may not exceed 10 (bonuses are included). 2. No stat should be a 10 unless given permission from a staff member (bonuses are included). 3. A member may not buy any tack that will raise his/her horse's stat to 10 or beyond. 4. A horse's stats must be realistic. No super horses please. 5. The maxium limit your horse may reach with out a staff member's permission is 8. 6. Want that 10 or 9 stat? Pm a staff member. Chances are 90% of the time we'll say yes. We won't bite your head off, promise. Feel free to ask. 7. Okay we know you may want like an undeafeted record or make an upset in an event...what ever. We understand that. A nice pm is all you need, and we the staff will all think it over. Then we'll message you the answer. 8. Stats DO NOT determine offically the results, they just better or worsen your chances is all. 9. For now only Captive HORSES are affected by these, nothing else is.
Additional information: Things to keep in mind: A horse that is very good in speed should have a low stamina/endurance number. A horse that is good in jumping should be good in strength. A young horse should have a lower obedience number than an older horse.
Excellent- Any stat that is between 9-10 Good- Any stat that is between 7-8 Average- Any stat that is between 4-6 Poor- Any stat that is lower than 3.
A horse MAY NOT increase in any stat that is excellent! No more tack bonuses will be given to any stat that is excellent! A horse may or may not increase in any stat that is listed as good. When tack is given to a horse please DO NOT change the base stats! Just leave the tack the way it is when you buy it (you can get rid of the price though if you want to. )
Please base your horse's stats on his breed and/or occupation. A horse that is trained for racing will be better in speed than a horse that if trained for jumping. A Thoroughbred will be better in speed than a Shire.
